Senior Tax Accountant

Overview Business Solutions Manager - Team Lead at Ledgent. The role supports the company's tax function with a focus on Sales & Use Tax and Motor Fuels Excise Tax compliance. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various internal teams and report to the Tax Manager. Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr This range is provided by Ledgent. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and file Sales & Use Tax returns for multiple jurisdictions. Assist in the preparation and filing of Motor Fuels Excise Tax returns; training and support will be provided if needed. Conduct tax research as necessary to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Monitor tax law changes and assist with implementing necessary updates to processes and procedures. Work closely with cross-functional teams including Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of tax filings. Assist with audits and respond to tax authority inquiries. Maintain organized and up-to-date tax records and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 4 years of hands-on Sales & Use Tax experience is required. Motor Fuels Tax experience is a strong plus, but not mandatory; willing to train the right candidate. Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws and reporting requirements. Excellent Excel skills, including working with pivot tables and large data sets. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
