Post-Doctoral Associate: PTM Biology in Tom Lin Lab at Rutgers This position, within the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, invites a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to NIH-funded projects focused on protein post-translational modifications. The appointment is 1 year with possible renewal, and requires 50% of the research time to be dedicated to arginylation research, with the remaining time for independent interests and collaborations. Responsibilities Demonstrate a solid training background in proteomics and cell assays. Devote 50% of research time to arginylation research and use the rest for independent projects and collaborations. Design, develop, and perform enzymatic and cellular assays. Write papers and grants independently, with guidance. Participate fully as a team player within the lab. Assist graduate and undergraduate students in research activities. Qualifications Ph.D. or Doctorate degree in a relevant research field. Knowledge of proteomics, protein purification, enzyme assays, and cell culture is preferred. Experience with protein purification from E. coli is considered favorably. Preferred Qualifications Experience in synthetic or medicinal chemistry training is discouraged for this role.
