Site Safety Manager Responsible for the safe and accident‑free operation of the site, identifying hazards and implementing prevention plans. Key Responsibilities Coordinates and administers the Site Health, Safety, environmental and Security Program for multiple locations. Investigates unsafe conditions and incidents, performs plant safety, security and environmental inspections and coordinates corrective actions toward resolution. Ensures sites of responsibilities comply with Federal, State, Local & Veolia’s Health & Safety Standards. Recognizes potential hazards and risks by implementing daily, weekly, monthly walkthroughs. Conducts Monthly Safety Inspection Reports and tracks findings to closure. Reports hazards and regulatory concerns to Project Managers & Regional VP of Operations. Ensures all employees, subcontractors/vendors and visitors comply with applicable Veolia’s H&S policies & procedures. Completes, tracks and investigates incident/injury reports, near misses. Conducts root cause analysis investigations and develops corrective actions for all incidents. Develops and reviews site‑specific safety related written SOPs and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Ensures H&S files (documentation) are maintained to include training records, equipment inspection logs, industrial hygiene evaluations, and procedures certifications. Is accessible and visible to the employee population by monitoring, evaluating and addressing employee safety concerns and issues. Coordinates and monitors monthly site safety committee meetings. Delivers and distributes employee safety training requirements, safety alerts and monthly awareness communications, concerns and suggestions. Provides new employee and contractor safety orientations. Ensures compliance and monitors requirements with the Process Safety Management (PSM) Standard. Coordinates site specific emergency planning programs. Develops and reviews site emergency programs (fire, hurricane, chemical spills, etc.). Implements fire and emergency drills. Participates and coordinates all visits of federal, state and insurance inspectors and follows up on their recommendations. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: Associate’s Degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental health strongly preferred. Experience in developing and coordinating safety programs and delivering safety training is a plus. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements. Working knowledge of State and Federal laws, local ordinances, and other rules and regulations associated with facility and employee safety and security. Competent to implement site specific safety procedures; i.e.; Hazard Communication, Process Safety Management, Electrical Safety, Emergency Management plan, etc. Must complete a physical fitness test to wear a respirator (if applicable) and any required safety equipment necessary to perform these duties. Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Requires competency with software applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with ability to download, manipulate and report data. Ability to learn other programs including Caribou, OPS32, MP-2 and Triple-I database software. Must demonstrate effective communication skills (verbal, presentation and listening) to interact with all levels of personnel. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports. Must be able to respond to emergencies at the plant during off hours and weekends. Required Certifications/Licenses/Training Certified on first-aid and CPR. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Pay Range $100,000 to $110,000 per year.
