Surgical Pathology Technical Coordinator

Full-Time Surgical Pathology Technical Coordinator at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) Day Shift Hours: Mon-Fri (7am – 3:30pm). Provide bench level support to all positions within Anatomic Pathology. Provide operational oversight such as facilitation of schedules. Responsibilities Assess workload, prioritize work, make staffing adjustments, and assist staff as needed. Coordinate/review schedules with supervisors and coordinators to ensure adequate staffing for each shift. Focus on quality by assembling and reviewing statistical data and ensuring performance of all quality control procedures. Ensure quality control and instrumentation maintenance records meet standards of accrediting and licensing agencies. Assist the Lab Director and Lab Supervisors in implementing new QC/QA policies and continuous quality improvement programs. Provide support during inspections. Oversee department operations in the absence of a supervisor. Coordinate the operation of the anatomic pathology information system within the laboratory. Perform, maintain quality, and troubleshoot testing in a broad range of histochemical, immunohistochemical, immunofluorescent, and/or cytochemical procedures. Mentor and train new and existing staff members and students in routine and specialized techniques. Participate in competency assessment and proctor proficiency testing. Maintain safety-sensitive practices and alertness as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Physical/Life Science or related field. CT (ASCP) or equivalent certification. Minimum 2–5 years of cytology or histology experience. Knowledge of QC/QA processes and accreditation standards. Experience with anatomic pathology information systems. Ability to lead and mentor staff. Preferred Qualifications HT-ASCP or HTL-ASCP or equivalent certifications. 5–10 years of experience.
