Sous Chef

Description Job Purpose To assist with the day-to-day activities in providing a high-quality Lounge product to guests. To aid the Executive Chef in coordinating, directing and planning culinary activities with a special focus on operations and serving as a daily point of contact while working alongside staff and supervisors Principal Accountabilities Serve as Manager on Duty in the day-to-day operations Adopt and maintain lounge standards, policies and procedures at all times including but not limited to cleanliness, food safety, guest service and reporting Provide the team with a welcoming and mutually supportive work environment Resolve team member issues with discretion and professionalism Oversee Lounge Supervisors, Agents, Cooks, Receptionists, Porters and Housekeeping Assist Executive Chef, and General Manager in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and training of staff Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and airlines to ensure lounge development in conjunction with the General Manager Facilities leadership with cleanliness, organization and vendor set up for necessary repairs Ordering of product including food, beverage, uniforms, and supplies Conducting staff meetings, and pre-shift meetings in partnership with the General Manager Conducting monthly inventory in conjunction with General Manager and Executive Chef Implementing new initiatives and training staff on all new menus, systems and processes Decision-Making Ensuring that personal training/development is in line with our values to deliver world class customer service always. Ensuring that all documentation is correctly recorded to enable the correct levels of revenue are measured and communicated to partners as required and that all card transactions are processed in line with the correct procedures with all relevant documentation is supported Knowledge, Experience and Skills A solid background in hospitality and service sectors, with a proven track record of high-end delivery A team player with an absolute first-class approach to customer service, and team member buy-in Experienced in and with demonstrable examples of flexibility across long shift days Computer literate on mainstream PC applications including Microsoft office Experience of working on own initiative, capable of building solid and beneficial relationships both internally and externally Works effectively within a collaborative environment that includes transparent and open feedback, partnership with company staff and the company’s partners to build solutions for overall success. Can work any work shift and has open availability throughout the work week. Expectation of a 5-day work week across different day parts Safety Responsibilities Ensure your personal safety and the safety of others at all times; Co-operate with all Lounge employees in meeting Health & Safety requirements; Comply with all appropriate rules, instructions and procedures as detailed in the Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) Comply with Company Policies; Wear safety clothing as supplied; Conduct only tasks that you have been trained to do; Report any hazards or irregularities through the means provided.
