Educational Interpreter

Division Name: Academic Affairs Department: HILIA Job Summary This position for an Educational Interpreter will provide interpreter services to students 3-21 years that are deaf and/or hard of hearing, in a variety of classroom settings, school events, and extra-curricular activities. Placement at Thomas Metcalf School or University High School is dependent upon student need and can change from year to year. This position is subject to summer academic break layoff, mid-May through mid-August. Additional Information Funding for this position will end June 30, 2027. Preferred Qualifications Willingness to be flexible with work assignments and schedule. Ability to transition quickly between classrooms throughout the building in a timely manner. Ability to process high level and technical language quickly Work Hours 7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday Functional Expectations Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation: Effectively communicate on a daily basis. Ability to demonstrate some physical education activities for clarification and understanding if working at the elementary level. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
