RN Registered Nurse - Neurology - 36 Hours Weekly - Night Shift

REGISTERED NURSE - NEUROLOGY - 36 HOURS WEEKLY - NIGHT SHIFT General Summary Full-Time Benefit Eligible Schedule: Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday Unit Description Henry Ford St John Hospital's 1 East Neurology Unit is a 22 private bed Joint Commission Certified Stroke specialty intermediate care unit with telemetry capabilities. Specialized care of hemodynamically stable adult stroke patients includes patients that may require neuro-endovascular interventional and thrombolytic medication with concurrent cardiac complications. Nursing staff are skilled to administer titratable vasoactive and inotropic intravenous medications as well as antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics. Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Qualifications - External EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. Certifications/Licensures Required Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Preferred Experience Prior Critical Care nursing experience.
