RN Registered Nurse - Observation / Clinical Decision Unit - 36 Hours Weekly - Night Shift General Summary: Sign‑On Bonus: $7,500. Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, rotating weekends and holidays. The unit is a 28‑bed Observation / Clinical Decision Unit at Henry Ford St. John’s Hospital. It serves ambulatory patients such as chest pain, TIA, abdominal pain, home falls, etc. As an extension of the Emergency Department, staff may float between Emergency and Observation as needed. The unit is staffed by physicians, registered nurses, and patient care technicians, and welcomes candidates of all educational backgrounds and experiences. Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. Certifications / Licenses Required Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
