Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with a close-knit group of young learners in a K-2 classroom. Located near Brownsburg, IN, this full-time contract role offers the opportunity to teach and support a small class of just eight students. You'll work during the traditional school year and extended summer sessions, bringing your expertise and compassion to early elementary students who benefit deeply from specialized instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in special education for Indiana (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience with early elementary grades (K-2 preferred)
- Strong understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Collaborative spirit to partner with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and adapt instruction for a diverse group of 8 students with varying learning needs
- Develop and maintain IEPs, ensure compliance, and document student progress
- Use evidence-based strategies for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and families
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and safe classroom environment
- Participate in case conferences, professional development, and ongoing training sessions
