Data Analyst

Data AnalystU.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to perform validation on our customer remediation events. This data-driven role performs validation in accordance with the Customer Remediation Policy. Data is pulled from various sources including but not limited to SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, PostgreSQL, SAS, and others. The data is then compared to data from our partners to challenge outcomes and verify accuracy and completeness. Success is measured through adherence to established process timeliness, testing and challenge quality, and a strong partnered approach to ensure rapid remediation turnaround.Position HighlightsPerforming analysis of data from Customer Remediation Events in accordance with the Customer Remediation PolicyUsing SQL database queries to pull data from SQL Server, Oracle, and Netezza, the analyst utilizes tools such as SAS, Excel, Toad, pgAdmin, Visual Studio Code or similar data tools to transform and analyze the dataUsing data to compare to an initial population created by the business to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the initial population as well as the remediation calculations and totalsOnce population consensus is reached, partnering with the business to work through the remaining milestones and through the remainder of the remediation process until the event is completedExecuting population and milestone testing during validation of customer remediation eventsReviewing and testing remediation population data to validate complete and accurate remediation populations and calculations are provided to customersProviding critical challenge of business line data processes while ensuring comprehensive population and calculation dataCredibly challenging data extraction, population verification, and financial calculationsBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree, or equivalent work experienceTypically more than six years of applicable experiencePreferred Skills and QualificationsStrong knowledge of SQL performing queries to extract and transform data from multiple database sources and structuresExperience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NetezzaProficiency with SAS Enterprise Guide- Extracting, transforming, analyzing, and presenting dataAdvanced Microsoft Excel knowledge- Ability to manipulate and modify data through formulas and BI tools requiredPower Query and VBATwo or more years of experience in testing, audit, and/or an applicable risk management environmentKnowledge of PCS, CPTS, and/or MPS systems and merchant processing and/or retail credit experienceStrong team player with the ability to work well under minimal direct supervision while managing multiple simultaneous projectsHybrid/flexible scheduleThe role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.Benefits:Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)Basic term and optional term life insuranceShort-term and long-term disabilityPregnancy disability and parental leave401(k) and employer-funded retirement planPaid vacation (from two to five weeks depending on salary grade and tenure)Up to 11 paid holiday opportunitiesAdoption assistanceSick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 80 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by lawU.S. Bank is an equal opportunity employer.
