ELECTRIC GENERATION SYSTEM PROGRAM SPECIALIST I

Job Title and Classification Principal Data Management Analyst – Electro Generation System Program Specialist I (JC‑520620) Employer and Division California Energy Commission – Fuels and Transportation Division, Zero Emissions Vehicles Acceleration Branch/Data Management and Analytics Unit. Salary and Benefits Salary: $10,127.00 – $12,669.00 per month. Additional $300 per month recruitment and retention pay. Benefits information is available on the CalHR and CalPERS websites. Job Purpose The incumbent will serve as a project manager for data management and analytics within the FTD, focusing on electric vehicle infrastructure planning and deployment. Responsibilities include improving data collection and storage processes, engaging data submitters, developing QA/QC and data validation, managing data-related projects, and creating reporting and dashboard solutions. Minimum Qualifications Meet the Minimum Qualifications listed in the Classification Specification (EGSPS I - CalHR). Relevant education and experience as required; submit unofficial transcripts if degrees used to meet qualifications. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of zero‑emission transportation and related infrastructure. Advanced writing skills in Python and SQL. Strong project management skills for data and IT projects. Experience with Salesforce, Snowflake, AWS S3, Power BI, Power Automate, Excel, Access, and Tableau. Experience managing API‑based data transmittals. Knowledge of plug‑in electric vehicles, charging equipment, automotive trends, grid integration, and related regulations. Experience with large data analysis related to ZEV infrastructure. Quantitative analysis skills (cost‑effectiveness, cost‑benefit). Collaboration and communication across units and agencies. Ability to lead in a team environment. Work Location and Telework Hybrid: 50% or more remote work from a California residence; occasional travel and in‑person attendance required.
