Job Description

The Assembler role focuses on building and packaging small mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components used in elevator doors, walls, and related assemblies. You will work on an assembly line using hand and power tools to assemble, align, and prepare elevator subassemblies and finished assemblies for shipment, while following detailed manufacturing information, drawings, and instructions and maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and pack a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and fabricated elevator components.
• Perform all operations required to assemble, align, and pack elevator subassemblies and assemblies within allocated timeframes while maintaining quality specifications.
• Work from manufacturing information, SAP data, COE sheets, engineering drawings, and both written and oral instructions to complete assigned tasks.
• Package and clearly identify completed assemblies for shipment according to established procedures.
• Maintain all required production records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks.
• Read and use a tape measure to take accurate measurements during assembly and packaging.
• Perform picking, packing, and kitting activities to support the assembly process.
• Follow basic blueprint and drawing instructions to assemble components correctly.
• Lift and move materials and components, including occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment while working in the shop.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues affecting quality, safety, or production flow.

• Basic mechanical assembly experience or strong mechanical inclination.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Basic blueprint reading skills to follow assembly instructions.
• Experience with picking and packing tasks in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform kitting activities to prepare parts and components for assembly.
• Comfort working with mechanical and electrical components.
• Ability to work on an assembly line and follow standardized processes.
• Capability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality specifications while meeting production times.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work from manufacturing information and engineering drawings.

• Experience using both hand and power tools in a production or assembly setting.
• Familiarity with electrical assembly tasks.
• Experience working with SAP or similar manufacturing information systems.
• Comfort working in a clean, moderately noisy manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Reliability and consistency in adhering to safety and quality procedures.

Work Environment

The role is based in a fairly clean manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Team members work in a shop setting and must wear steel-toed boots, long pants, and safety glasses at all times while on the floor. The position operates on two full-time weekday shifts: first shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and second shift runs from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work involves standing, moving materials, and using hand and power tools, with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds, all within a structured and safety-focused production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, PA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hanover,PA.
