Director, Trading Product Management

Director, Trading Product Management As the Chief Product Owner for Trading, you will define and deliver the vision, strategy, and technology delivery of the firm’s trading platforms and capabilities across all asset classes. You will lead the evolution of core trading platforms, including the Charles River Investment Management System, in close partnership with investment, trading, and technology teams. Responsibilities Define and own the strategic vision and roadmap for trading platforms across asset classes. Translate trading workflows into scalable technology capabilities that enhance execution quality, liquidity access, cost efficiency, and risk management. Drive the evolution of trading technology across order and execution management, trade lifecycle processing, analytics, and workflow optimization. Incorporate market structure trends, regulatory developments, vendor innovation, and advanced data and analytics (including AI where appropriate) into product strategy. Maintain an external perspective on trading technology and market evolution, building relationships with industry peers, vendors, and market participants. Account for delivery and ongoing evolution of trading platforms, including CRIMS implementations, upgrades, stability, and performance. Own and prioritize product backlogs to align with business value, regulatory requirements, and strategic outcomes. Lead and align Agile teams, ensuring clarity on priorities, dependencies, and milestones. Drive disciplined execution by managing risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes, embedding strong SDLC and platform stability practices. Manage strategic relationships with key vendors, influencing vendor roadmaps and ensuring performance meets enterprise standards. Partner with technology leadership to optimize the balance of internal development and external platform capabilities. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology platform strategy and governance. Build and develop high‑performing product and delivery teams, fostering ownership, collaboration, and domain expertise. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree and/or CFA preferred. 15+ years of experience in trading technology, product management, or front‑office systems within asset management or financial services. Deep expertise in trading workflows, order and execution management, trade lifecycle processes, and trading data and analytics. Strong experience with the Charles River Investment Management System, including implementation, enhancement, and platform management. Proven track record of delivering strategic trading platforms with measurable business impact. Strong experience operating within Agile frameworks, including backlog ownership, prioritization, and cross‑team coordination. Experience managing strategic vendor relationships in complex enterprise environments. Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives. Strong systems thinking with the ability to navigate technical, operational, and organizational complexity. Exceptional communication and executive storytelling skills. Commercially minded with a pragmatic, forward‑looking approach to problem solving. Familiarity with emerging technologies, including advanced analytics and AI, and their application within trading workflows. Preferred Skills Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). Salary and Benefits Base Salary Range: $159,500 – $240,000. Eligible for competitive incentive bonus. 15% 401(k) contribution.
