Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; ability to provide official high school or college transcripts upon hire
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is mandatory for consideration
• Demonstrated experience working in a school setting, preferably with middle school students
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Collaborative approach to working with educators, students, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct classroom assistance, using ASL to facilitate engagement and understanding for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Assist teachers with instructional tasks, modifications, and accommodations to ensure student success
• Support students in academic, social, and behavioral activities throughout the school day
• Encourage student participation, independence, and self-advocacy skills
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment where students feel safe and empowered to learn
