SHIFT LEAD POSITION

Shift LeaderSupervise the cashiers on the shift to ensure quality customer service. Train all new hires in a timely and proficient manner. Maintain cashier skills at all times to efficiently teach and train all cashiers when changes occur to any process, procedure or policy. Operates cash register to itemize and total customers purchases in gas, deli, grocery, beer, liquor, tobacco, lottery, scratch offs, money orders, Cat scale or other retail items by performing the following duties. Make change for all cashiers on shift. Verify all cash drops. Ensure all open/close of shifts are done according to procedure. Maintain inventory control.Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Train and develop all new hiresCollect cash, check, or charge payment from customer, make change for cash transactionsCounts money in cash drawer at beginning and end of work shift to ensure money balances with salesVerify all cash dropsMake change for cashiers as neededEnsure open/close of shifts are done in a timely manner according to policyRecords daily transaction amounts from cash register to balance drawerBags merchandise, issues receipts, and redeems promotional couponsReview price sheets to note price accuracy and changes on gas, deli, beer, liquor, or tobacco and all sale itemsRecords prices and departments in an accurate manner on the register to ensure taxable items and totals are correctStock and clean shelves, and mark prices on itemsUse the register to swipe all identification to sell tobacco, beer, liquor and lottery tickets to ensure of legal age to purchasePromote and ensure customer satisfaction on all purchasesGreet all customers as they enter the storeTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Leadership - Exhibits confidence in self and others; Inspires and motivates others to perform well; effectively influences actions and opinions of others; Accepts feedback from others; Gives appropriate recognition to othersProblem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
