Category Manager

This position will be a member of the NOV Corporate Procurement Team based in Houston, Texas. The Procurement Category Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic sourcing initiatives across the organization. The position shall work closely with NOV site personnel as well as manufacturers and distributors to bring value to the organization. The successful candidate will possess an understanding of supply chain fundamentals, a strong work ethic and be a self-starter with the ability to bring complex projects to conclusion.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for assigned category(s) with initial focus on Security and Temp LaborConduct market research and supplier analysis to identify cost-savings opportunitiesPrepare and execute RFQ’s and RFP’sNegotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships (including but not limit to; Negotiation of pricing, discount structures and commercial terms.)Analyze spending patterns and develop strategic sourcing plansCollaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needsTrack and report on key procurement performance metricsPerform other work-related task as assignedComply with all NOV policies and proceduresKey Skill Set:Self-Driven and Results-OrientedAbility to review and comprehend contracts Critical and strategic thinkingAbility to Identify both Opportunities and RiskSuperior Communication SkillsConsensus Builder, Team Builder and CollaboratorQualifications:Four Year Bachelor’s Degree10+ years experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a Senior Buyer rolePrior procurement experience in the Security and / or Temp Labor marketsNOV is an equal opportunity employer.
