Executive Director of Operations – Healthcare Services $185,000 - $225,000 The Opportunity This role is with a large, multi-site healthcare services organization undergoing continued growth and operational evolution. The business delivers care across a diverse set of service lines and operates within a complex, physician-centric environment, balancing both fee-for-service and value-based care models. The Executive Director of Operations will serve as a senior leader responsible for a significant portion of the organization’s operating footprint, overseeing multiple service lines and a P&L exceeding $150M. This individual will report directly to executive leadership and play a critical role in driving performance, standardization, and scalable growth across the platform. This role will have responsibility for a core portion of the organization’s Midwest footprint, partnering closely with leadership to support continued expansion and operational consistency across markets. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced operator who thrives in dynamic healthcare environments and is comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and scale. Role Overview The Executive Director will lead operations across a broad portfolio of clinical services, partnering closely with physician leadership, functional executives, and frontline teams to improve access, efficiency, financial performance, and patient outcomes. This role requires a leader who can operate both strategically and tactically—setting direction while also ensuring disciplined execution across a multi-site environment. The VP will be expected to drive alignment across service lines, elevate operational consistency, and build infrastructure to support continued growth. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple service lines within a large, multi-site healthcare platform Drive performance across key metrics including access, throughput, patient experience, and financial outcomes Establish and maintain operating rhythms, reporting structures, and accountability frameworks Hold full accountability for a $150M+ P&L, including revenue growth, cost management, and margin improvement Partner with finance to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance improvement plans Identify and execute opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize resource allocation Collaborate closely with physician leaders to align operational priorities with clinical objectives Support service line growth, provider engagement, and practice optimization initiatives Build trust and credibility across clinical and administrative stakeholders Strategic Execution & Transformation Lead key enterprise initiatives, including service line expansion, operational redesign, and performance improvement efforts Translate strategic priorities into executable plans with clear milestones and outcomes Drive change management across a distributed organization with diverse stakeholders Lead and develop a team of operational leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Build organizational capabilities to support scale, including talent development and succession planning Qualifications 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, ideally within multi-site provider organizations Demonstrated experience managing large-scale operations with significant P&L responsibility Strong track record of driving operational performance and leading complex initiatives Experience working closely with physicians and clinical leadership in ambulatory or outpatient environments Familiarity with both fee-for-service and value-based care models Proven ability to lead through influence in matrixed, fast-paced organizations Profile Strategic thinker with strong execution orientation Comfortable operating in complex, evolving environments Data-driven decision maker with strong financial acumen Collaborative leader with executive presence and the ability to influence at all levels High level of ownership, accountability, and adaptability Location Midwest-based preferred, with regular in-market presence required Why This Role This is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a scaled healthcare organization at an important inflection point.
