Director of Emergency Management Agency/911 Center

Perry County is seeking a full‑time Director of the Emergency Management Agency/911 Center to direct the activities and operations of the Emergency 911 system and coordinate all levels of Emergency Service activities with the Perry County, including fire, ambulance, and police activities, in direct cooperation with all municipal local emergency coordinators. Essential Duties Direct the day‑to‑day operations of the emergency management agency, including the Perry County 911 Center, to ensure proper budgeting, inventory management, audits, and strategic planning. Manage staffing and operations of the Emergency Operations Center during crises such as floods, storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes; activate the County Emergency Operations Center when necessary. Participate in the development and coordination of policy to guide Perry County’s ability to prepare for, prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies, disasters, or terrorist incidents; develop all emergency action plans for the County and its local municipalities. Administer all emergency action plans and activate the Perry County Emergency Operations Center when required. Submit all State and Federal grant applications and manage funds and grants according to requirements. Submit fiscal documentation and requests for reimbursement to PEMA and handle all financial administration necessary for the emergency management program. Serve as the County liaison between Federal, State, Homeland Security, and local governments. Serve as an Executive Board Member of the South Central Task Force. Coordinate public awareness of local and regional task forces and activities. Coordinate and provide quarterly local emergency management coordinator training as directed by Title 35. Qualifications/Experience Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in emergency management, planning, land use, communications, or a related field, OR possess equivalent knowledge, experience, or training to perform the job. Supervisor experience required. Valid driver’s license. Required Requirements 911 Telecommunicator training. Associate and professional emergency management certifications from PEMA. PEMA 911 Supervisor certification. Compensation and Benefits The position includes a starting salary of $33.23 per hour, with consideration for relevant experience.
