Step into a vital role supporting students in a dynamic elementary school environment as a self-contained Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity is ideal for travel professionals eager to make a meaningful difference. Working on-site with a dedicated K–5th grade class of 12 students, you will have the support of a paraprofessional in a collaborative setting that values individualized learning. The position is full-time, with a schedule from 7:40am to 3:20pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varied needs, including those on the autism spectrum and those requiring some assistance with toileting.
• Provide engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to individual student strengths and challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and school staff to foster an inclusive classroom.
• Maintain clear communication with families in support of student progress and well-being.
• Assess student performance and adjust instructional strategies to ensure academic and developmental success.

Requirements:

• Valid Educator Certification (appropriate for Special Education; you’ll need to provide images of your credentials during hiring).
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a self-contained elementary setting.
• Ability to work with a range of needs, including autism and support with basic self-care.
• Strong organizational skills and a compassionate, resourceful approach.
• Flexibility and adaptability, particularly suited to those with experience traveling for school assignments.
• Commitment to upholding confidentiality and positive, professional relationships with students and staff.
