Entry-Level Finance Clerk

Join our finance team as a full-time Entry-Level Finance Clerk and kick start your career in the world of finance! This energetic role offers an opportunity to develop foundational skills in financial data management, bookkeeping, and accounting systems. The Clerk is responsible for data entry in the finance department including, but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash handling and payroll. This position will assist and learn various areas of finance, with the expectation of gradually transitioning to independent responsibility for those areas. Desirable experience: QuickBooks Online (QB) and Excel. Position requires working on grounds and limited driving duties. Schedule from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Pay: $16 plus benefits after 90 day waiting period.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry for accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions using various financial software such as Quickbooks.
• Work with multiple departments on obtaining bills and entering them while ensuring each document is authorized to pay.
• Have a comfort level of making phone calls and writing professional emails externally and internally.
• Support month-end closing processes and identify discrepancies or errors.
• Accurately prepping cash deposits and able to problem solve discrepancies.
• Manage invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communication to ensure timely payments and proper documentation.
• Handle confidential financial information with integrity .
• Contribute to audit preparations by organizing financial records and assisting with internal control procedures.
• Assisting the payroll process through maintaining accurate timekeeping, benefit accruals and deductions, inputting employee records, and distributing bi-weekly payroll and distributing checks.
• Cross train in Finance Office.
• Work at special events, as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
• Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks or similar systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management for account reconciliation and report generation.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
• Effective and professional communication skills for customer service interactions with vendors or internal teams.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to sit while working on a computer for long periods of time and physically able to lift up to 50lbs.  
• Must be able to pass a drug test, including for marijuana
• Candidates must agree to a background check
