About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead and manage all aspects of the organization's development efforts. This includes strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities related to the Board, leadership development, fundraising, and marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of the development department, including staff supervision, and will work closely with the CEO and CFO to develop and manage fundraising budgets. Key duties also involve board and leadership development, donor cultivation and stewardship, and community engagement. The Chief Development Officer will be a member of the senior management team and is expected to integrate development efforts across all areas of the organization. Applicants for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a master's degree preferred, and at least 7-10 years of senior-level experience in fundraising, corporate development, or non-profit management. The role requires exceptional public speaking, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a proven track record in raising funds and creating a culture of philanthropy. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, be adept at strategic thinking, and have a deep understanding of philanthropic approaches. Experience in working with a board, technological proficiency in social media and tech-driven fundraising, and the ability to manage department budgets and forecast financial trends are also essential.
