Details Work in the Neuro Transplant ICU of a hospital environment Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex Night shift schedule 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly 13-week assignment length Requirements Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC) Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required Level I trauma center experience required Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services Effective verbal and written communication skills Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration Additional Information Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing manifestations and intervening as necessary Administer prescribed medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge Inform patients and families of hospital procedures Refer patient care needs to appropriate personnel and delegate tasks to support staff Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible Compliance documentation, including background checks and drug screenings, must begin immediately upon offer due to strict facility deadlines Candidates must be able to start at least 4 weeks from time of offer Returning workers may extend a contract one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying American Traveler Job ID P-740531.
