They coordinate patient flow, ensuring the right resources are available for patient needs and that priority cases are addressed promptly. This Registered Nurse manages staffing, assigning duties based on skill and patient load while providing guidance and support to the nursing team. They also consult with doctors and departments to streamline operations and maintain clear communication. Charge nurses manage complex care cases, resolve conflicts, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with healthcare policies, all while fostering a cohesive, efficient team environment that enhances patient care. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Act as the primary supervisory figure for Med/Surg nursing staff during shifts, ensuring optimal care delivery and efficient patient flow. Assess patient conditions, prioritize patient needs based on severity, and allocate resources effectively to provide timely care. Mentor and support nursing staff, providing guidance, conflict resolution, and performance feedback to maintain a cohesive work team. Serve as a liaison between physicians, nurses, patients, and families, ensuring clear communication about treatment plans and patient status. Ensure readiness to respond swiftly to medical emergencies, coordinating with medical teams for critical interventions. Implement hospital policies, maintain patient safety standards, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: Current and valid state RN License Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
