Personal Training Manager

Description The Personal Training Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, operations, and overall management of the Gymnasium and Fitness Center, ensuring an exceptional member experience aligned with the standards and traditions of the New York Athletic Club. This role oversees fitness staff, independent trainers, facility operations, and personal training services to maintain a safe, welcoming, and professionally managed environment. The Manager serves as a visible presence, fostering a culture of hospitality, accountability, and engagement. This role is centered on delivering an elevated member experience reflective of the Club's history and standards, driven by a strong team culture and consistent excellence in staff performance and facility operations. Key Responsibilities Member Experience & Service Standards
- Maintain a consistent and visible presence in the Gymnasium and Fitness Center, creating a welcoming and service-driven environment
- Ensure all staff deliver a high standard of hospitality, professionalism, and member engagement reflective of a private club setting
- Build strong relationships with members, supporting both recreational and fitness-oriented needs
- Address member concerns promptly and thoughtfully, resolving issues or escalating when appropriate
- Support initiatives that enhance member engagement, satisfaction, and retention
- Collaborate with other athletic departments to support a seamless and engaging member experience across the Club
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a fitness, wellness, or athletic facility
- Experience in a private club, hospitality, or service-oriented environment preferred
- Strong understanding of general fitness and recreational sports
- Personal Training Certification preferred
- Current CPR/AED certification required
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and select club events
