Senior Accountant

Purpose of Role / Job Summary

Position reports to the Sr. Manager, General Ledger Accounting and assists with month-end close process, account reconciliations, global standard costing, and with ad hoc projects, as needed.


Key Accountabilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for various accounts as needed in accordance with the financial calendar.

• Lead assigned month-end close activities and ensure timely completion of close deadlines.

• Communicate observations and suggestions for improving accounting processes and procedures.

• Contribute to the monthly balance sheet review process by preparing supporting analysis and identifying items for follow-up.

• Assist with auditor requests and supporting documentation for annual audit process.

• Assist with the facilitation of annual physical inventory processes and reconciliation of the inventory counts.

• Participate in ERP implemntations, upgrades, and finance transformation initiatives.

• Assist with special projects, reporting initiatives, and internal business partner requests.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required

Experience:

• Overall work experience 5 -7 years, minimum 2 - 5 year experience in a manufacturing or similar production environment.

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products required, especially Microsoft Excel

• Strong background in month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Preferences

• Experience with $250 million+ revenue company preferred.

• Experience with multinational or multi-entity environment preferred.

• Experience with J.D. Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other large ERP systems a plus

• Life science industry experience a plus

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Extended computer and display screen equipment usage

• Ability to read and interpret materials, verbally communicate, and hear required.

• Hybrid schedule (generally in office two days per week)

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
