Extension Agent (Family & Community Health, Moore County) The Extension Agent, under general supervision, implements, plans, and evaluates educational programs and activities in the Agriculture and Natural Resources (AgNR) unit for the Cooperative Extension Program (CEP) in Moore County. The role supports and assists in program implementation, coordinates with other agencies, and provides outreach and technical assistance to local farmers, ranchers, homeowners, and community organizations. Responsibilities Plan and coordinate educational programs with committees, task forces, and organizations. Develop comprehensive outcome and output program plans that address base programs, critical issues, and client needs. Implement educational programs in crop production, livestock production, range, wildlife, agricultural economics, water quality, conservation, and natural resource management. Evaluate programs and activities, using outcome‑based strategies, and report results to stakeholders. Identify, recruit, and train local volunteer leaders and facilitate their participation in committees, clubs, and community organizations. Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to conduct educational programs. Maintain communication with county, district, and administrative staff to ensure alignment of county programs. Prepare monthly, annual, and special reports summarizing program outcomes and impacts. Participate in professional development, training, and county staff conferences to enhance technical competencies and teamwork. Assist in maintaining membership lists, inventory records, and supervisory performance reviews. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; no prior experience required. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Technical competence in the subject matter and ability to apply knowledge to problem solving. Understanding of youth and adult learning and development processes. Knowledge of a variety of teaching methods to provide effective learning experiences. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to reside in Moore County, have access to a personal vehicle, and obtain or maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and insurance. Travel allowance provided for official duties. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Five (5) or more years of extension, research, teaching, or related experience in agriculture and natural resources, livestock management, gardening/horticulture, crop/production, or farming.
