ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Description Essential Accounting Responsibilities Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments. Prepare customer invoices and assist with accounts receivable collections. Enter payroll journal entries and assist with payroll reconciliation. Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and financial schedules. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Human Resources Responsibilities Payroll Coordinate payroll processing with the company's payroll provider. Review employee time records for accuracy. Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, bonuses, and salary adjustments. Maintain payroll records and assist with payroll tax documentation. Prepare payroll-related journal entries for accounting. Benefits Administration Administer employee health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits. Coordinate employee enrollments, changes, and terminations. Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions. Assist employees with benefit enrollment and annual open enrollment. Coordinate with benefit brokers and insurance carriers. Employee Administration Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation. Prepare employment documentation and personnel files. Maintain employee records in compliance with federal and state regulations. Process employment verifications and personnel changes. Assist with recruiting, interview scheduling, and candidate communications. Monitor required employment documentation including I-9 forms and W-4s. Compliance Assist in maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies. Maintain confidentiality of payroll and personnel information. Support OSHA, safety, and training documentation.
