Job Description This is an onsite role located in Indianapolis, IN. The Manufacturing Operations Manager provides leadership to manufacturing operations supervisors, leads teams, and is accountable for both short‑term and long‑term functional strategies and operational direction of departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Execute and maintain conformance to the schedule of sub‑contracted Assembly or Sub‑Assembly work. Coordinate Manufacturing, Engineering and Shipping efforts and report daily statuses. Communicate key performance indicator statuses through forums to all levels of leadership and constituents. Promote a teamwork environment and ensure systems align plant operations across Engineering, Manufacturing and Inventory teams. Verify labor hours and account accurately for Project Accounting. Support the procurement process of materials and equipment to meet schedules and improve shop performance. Support daily, weekly and monthly skills and safety training. Attend company‑level meetings regarding scheduling, project financials and staffing; align with company plans and strategies. Contribute to plant Gemba and Continuous Improvement efforts. Drive change across operational initiatives and implement best‑practice processes to reduce variability and improve flow. LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrate employee‑centered and value‑based behaviors of the Truly Human Leadership model. Develop a culture of participation and collaboration with subordinate leadership. Lead performance management through the BW Elevate/Performance Cycle program. Work with Plant Manufacturing leadership to manage shift skills matrices and training plans. Approve hiring decisions, develop training plans, deliver evaluations and administer disciplinary actions as needed. QUALITY, CI & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Partner with the Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator to improve worker safety and enforce PPE standards. Champion Gemba activities and review project status, target‑to‑improve projects, housekeeping levels, and CI suggestion boards. Recommend changes in work conditions and equipment use to increase output, safety and resource consumption. Support company schedule or margin goals through quality and continuous improvement efforts. Build quality into operations processes, not just inspection. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration. Project Management credentials such as PMP or similar. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred. At least 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Travel less than 10%. Work occasional evenings and weekends to meet deadlines. Sit or stand at a desk or computer for extended periods. Move about the office and factory with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, reaching and occasional pushing or pulling. Dial, hear and respond to telephone calls and inquiries; communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. Daily attendance on the job for a full, continuous work schedule.
