Are you the steady organizer in a busy litigation practice, the one who keeps discovery, deadlines, and details moving even when the caseload is intense and the stakes are high? Do you thrive in an environment where you can manage a large volume of files, anticipate what your attorney needs, and keep clients informed and supported? Are you confident drafting and responding to discovery, tracking every deadline, and driving cases forward while still treating injured workers with empathy and respect? Final question: When faced with a challenge, do you get excited or run away? IMPORTANT: TO APPLY If you have any questions, please email View email address on click.appcast.io only. RECRUITERS DO NOT CONTACT Gerber & Holder Workers’ Compensation Attorneys is a trusted Atlanta firm representing employees hurt on the job across the state of Georgia, with offices in Atlanta, Athens, and Columbus. The firm focuses exclusively on workers’ compensation, bringing more than 75 years of combined experience to injured workers and their families and fighting to secure maximum benefits under Georgia law. Gerber & Holder is seeking a skilled Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to step into a busy litigation practice and immediately support a high‑volume attorney in the Atlanta office. Once a client is signed, you receive the file, take ownership of the case management, and work closely with your attorney to move 90 or more active cases forward through discovery, hearings, and resolution. What you’ll do: Case Ownership and File Management: Tracking important appointments, legal documents in addition to filing deadlines for designated clients and cases while maximizing Game Changing Attorney’s time, potential and efficiency. Discovery Drafting and Responses: Draft discovery requests, respond to discovery, prepare responses to interrogatories and requests for production, and manage discovery deadlines. Coordinate with clients to gather information and documents needed to complete responses accurately and on time. Litigation Calendar and Deadlines: Track all key dates, including discovery cutoffs, hearings, mediations, IMEs, depositions, and Board deadlines. Ensure your attorney is fully prepared, no deadline is missed, and follow up tasks after each event is completed. Client Communication and Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients after they are signed. Provide updates, explain the process in plain language, gather necessary information, and help clients feel supported during what is often one of the most stressful periods of their lives. Medical and Benefit Documentation: Request, receive, and organize medical records, wage information, and other documentation needed to support claims. Verify completeness and accuracy so the attorney can quickly assess exposure, treatment status, and settlement posture. Attorney Partnership: Work one‑on‑one with an assigned attorney, anticipating needs, preparing case summaries, drafting routine pleadings and correspondence, and flagging issues that require legal strategy decisions. Bring solutions and recommendations, not just problems. Communication with Opposing Counsel and Adjusters: Coordinate with defense counsel, adjusters, and other parties regarding discovery, scheduling, and routine case progress. Keep interactions professional, firm, and aligned with the client’s interests and the attorney’s litigation strategy. Hearing, Mediation, and Settlement Support: Prepare hearing and mediation binders, exhibits, and witness materials. Assist with settlement documentation and follow up, including ensuring orders, releases, and related paperwork are completed and processed efficiently. Process Discipline and Continuous Improvement: Follow existing workflows while looking for practical ways to streamline tasks, reduce bottlenecks, and improve how information moves between clients, the court, and the legal team. What we’re looking for: Background and Experience: 3 to 5 years of paralegal experience in workers’ compensation strongly preferred. Strong personal injury litigation experience will be considered, especially where discovery and high‑volume case management were core responsibilities. Exceptional candidates with 1 to 2 years of paralegal experience and a strong academic or professional track record may be considered, but they must demonstrate high capacity, maturity, and the ability to learn fast. Discovery and Litigation Skills Proven ability to draft and respond to discovery without needing step‑by‑step instruction. Comfortable managing multiple discovery tracks at once and keeping your attorney ahead of deadlines. Experience preparing for hearings, mediations, and depositions in a fast‑moving litigation environment. Caseload Management Strength Demonstrated success handling 90 or more active cases or a similar high‑volume docket. Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a busy, fast‑paced workers’ comp or PI practice. Able to prioritize quickly, shift gears as cases develop, and still keep files clean and current. Mindset and Personal Traits Mission‑oriented and either already passionate about helping injured workers or open to developing that passion. Mature, self‑motivated, and solutions focused, with the attitude of “If I act like an adult, I’m treated like an adult.” Not a job hopper. You’re looking for a place to commit, learn, and grow, not just your next short stop. Location Primarily an in‑office role based in Atlanta, with some flexibility for occasional remote or flex days consistent with firm policy. Why you should work here: Mission with Real Impact: Join a firm that lives and breathes advocacy for injured workers. You’re not just processing files. You’re part of a team that believes in protecting workers and uses the law to change lives for the better. Growth and Professional Development: Work closely with experienced trial attorneys who take mentoring seriously. Many team members have gone on to law school and into legal careers, a sign that high performers are seen, supported, and given room to grow. Autonomy and Trust: This is not a micromanaged environment. You’ll have real responsibility, real ownership of your cases, and the trust to manage your day as long as you keep your commitments and move the work forward. Supportive, Human Culture: The firm pairs high expectations with genuine flexibility. Kids and families matter, benefits are generous, and the tone is kind, open, and nonjudgmental. If you show up as a professional and own your role, you’ll be treated like a valued teammate. Stability and Long‑Term Fit: Turnover is low, and the goal is to bring on someone who wants to stay, build expertise, and be part of the firm’s continued growth serving injured workers across Georgia. Additional perks: Health and Financial Benefits: 100% employer‑paid health insurance, with the option to add dependents at the employee’s expense; 401(k) with a 4% employer match, plus profit sharing; short‑ and long‑term security supported by a strong, stable practice focused on a single area of law. Time Off and Holidays: Two weeks of PTO in the first year; a generous holiday schedule that typically includes multiple days around Christmas and New Year’s. At Gerber & Holder, you’re not just another paralegal in a back office. You’re a key partner in making sure injured workers are heard, protected, and compensated under Georgia law. You’ll work with attorneys who know this field inside and out and with colleagues who care as much about the mission as they do about winning cases. If you’re ready to bring your workers’ comp or PI experience into a firm where your judgment is trusted, your growth is encouraged, and your work has a direct impact on people’s lives, we want to hear from you. Apply through the Crisp Recruit link, answer the questions honestly, and show us how you tackle challenges. #J-18808-Ljbffr
