Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary-aged students by providing essential support in a dynamic educational setting. This contract opportunity near Chicago, IL is ideal for a certified paraprofessional ready to take on a crucial backfill role and contribute to a team focused on student growth and development.
We’re seeking someone with a passion for helping children thrive, especially those who benefit from behavioral support. In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced educators and school staff, supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active paraprofessional certification required
- Prior experience in a K-12 school setting or direct behavioral support background
- Proven reliability and ability to commit to a Monday–Friday schedule
- Confidence stepping into an existing role and adapting quickly
- Strong communication skills and a caring, problem-solving attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers and provide targeted support to elementary students with behavioral needs
- Follow individualized education and behavioral plans
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Encourage student engagement and model effective social skills
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure seamless classroom operations
Schedule Details:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
