We are looking for a detail-oriented Part Time Payroll/HR Generalist to support day-to-day people operations for a wood and furniture manufacturing business in Westbury, New York. This role combines payroll coordination with core human resources responsibilities, helping maintain accurate records, support employees, and contribute to a positive workplace experience. The ideal candidate brings practical HR knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a part-time environment.

Responsibilities:
• Administer payroll-related activities with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring employee data, hours, and deductions are properly maintained.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, providing guidance on workplace policies, procedures, and general HR matters.
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including paperwork completion, orientation support, and record setup.
• Assist with benefits administration by supporting enrollments, updates, employee communications, and related documentation.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date personnel files and HR records in compliance with company practices and applicable requirements.
• Use HRIS tools to enter, update, and verify employee information, helping ensure reliable reporting and data integrity.
• Support routine HR administration such as document preparation, employment status changes, and internal follow-up on personnel matters.
• Contribute to employee relations efforts by helping address concerns professionally and escalating issues when appropriate.• At least 2 years of experience in human resources, payroll, or a closely related position.
• Working knowledge of employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits support.
• Experience using HRIS platforms to manage employee records and process routine updates.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a detail-oriented and approachable manner.
• Ability to organize tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a part-time role.
• Proficiency with standard office software and general administrative processes.
