Senior Principal Software Engineer - Austin

Salary: $96,800 - 251,600 per year Requirements:

• We require a BS or MS degree, or equivalent relevant experience in a related functional area.
• We are looking for 6+ years of experience developing commercial software in a distributed environment.
• We need strong proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or C++.
• We require a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals, along with a strong understanding of databases, storage, and persistent technologies.
• We value strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills.

• We design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, and related systems.
• We apply our software architecture knowledge to carry out development, debugging, and design work on software applications.

• We participate in design activities and work with product management to define services.
• We help establish operational best practices across the organization.
• We define specifications for major new initiatives and develop software to match those specifications.

We are Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and we are building new File Storage Services that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our team is focused on delivering best-in-class file storage capabilities alongside compute, storage, networking, database, and security services. This is a highly collaborative role with the opportunity to build new systems from the ground up, operate services at scale, and contribute to new AI/ML service offerings as well as enhancements to existing storage services. The position is IC5 level and, for the US, includes a broad benefits package and a stated hiring range of $96,800 to $251,600 per annum, with potential bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
