Job Title: Assembler - 1st Shift Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Assembler on the first shift, where you will be responsible for gasketing sheet metal plates and assembling subcomponents and finished products. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, with potential for overtime and occasional Saturdays. You will partner with a team member to efficiently complete production orders, using hand tools, power tools, and an overhead crane to build heat exchangers.

• Gasket sheet metal plates using a tape gun to secure units.
• Collaborate with a partner to gasket each plate at opposite ends of the table.
• Build up to gasketing 400 plates per shift.
• Assemble and fit metal products using hand and power tools.
• Operate overhead crane to move larger units.
• Review assembly diagrams to determine parts and quantities needed.
• Engage in fast-paced production and assembly work.
• Lift 60 lbs+ and use mechanical skills to fit products together.
• Stand, walk, climb, and extend arms for extended periods.

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to interpret assembly drawings and schematics.
• Experience operating an overhead crane.
• Mechanical skills and blueprint reading.

• High school diploma or GED required upon permanent conversion.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs+ (40 lbs+ independently).
• Capable of regularly walking, sitting, and reaching for extended periods.

Work in a clean, organized, and large manufacturing floor with labeled sections for materials and production. The first shift operates from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with possible extension to 4:30 PM, and occasional Saturday shifts. The second shift runs from 2:15 PM to 10:45 PM, with potential Saturday hours from 12 PM to 6 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
