About the Position

The shift is days, working three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Floating to PICU or NICU is a requirement for this role. Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of four shifts per month. Some holiday work is also required as part of the regular staff mix. No on-call duties are expected. The unit has a highly variable patient population, primarily surgical cases with a broad range of ages, from neonates to adults. The acuity of patients varies, and advanced procedures are common, including ECMO management, central line care, and bedside procedures. Candidates should be familiar with the administration of critical care medications and ventilator management. Experience with administering blood products and managing invasive monitors is necessary. The facility utilizes a self-documentation system. Support services are available from various interdisciplinary teams. This role involves caring for patients who may require complex interventions. Candidates must be prepared for a dynamic and challenging environment.
