About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVPICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and PALS required. Must-Have: Strong experience in a critical care environment. Ability to float to PICU or NICU. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The role involves caring for a highly variable patient population, primarily surgical patients, with a majority being infants and young children. Candidates should have experience managing complex cases, including those requiring ECMO support. Nurses will be responsible for administering medications, managing invasive lines, and monitoring patients' vital signs. Bedside procedures such as chest tube placement and cardioversions may also be required. Nurses are expected to work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per month, with some holidays included. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1-2 patients per nurse. Prior experience with ventilators and advanced cardiac care is highly desirable. Floating to the pediatric medical/surgical oncology floor may be required. Candidates must be comfortable with the demands and variability of critical care nursing within this specialized setting.
