About the Position

Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 1845-0715 (36 hours per week). Weekend coverage required - 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. Floating required as needed. No call required. Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6

Highlights:

• Contract duration: 13-26 weeks available
• Comprehensive cardiac telemetry unit with 44 beds and daily census of 41 patients
• Exposure to diverse cardiac conditions including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, cardiomyopathy, and vascular disorders
• Work with advanced procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Watchman procedures, and post-cardiac catheterization care
• EMR system: Epic, with Pyxis medication management
• 24-hour orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac experience required
• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/Step-down experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate cardiac experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must be willing to work holidays (2 of 3 major holidays required)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Special Equipment & Procedures:

• Equipment: Arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires
• Skills include sheath management and removal, cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, central line care, chest tube management, and wound care
• Patient care includes pre/post cardiac catheterization, post-cardioversion, post-electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placement monitoring

Additional Information:

• Maximum 7 days of requested time off permitted (no holidays); all time off must be pre-approved
• No RTO allowed during first week of contract
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
• Scrubs: Navy blue pants and white top
• Pre-start online modules required (approximately 8-10 hours, non-billable)
