Description

• Assess and evaluate patients throughout pediatric, adult, and elderly populations using a variety of methods including standardized tests and observational evaluations.
• Create individualized treatment strategies to meet both immediate objectives and overarching communication and swallowing requirements.
• Deliver focused speech therapy sessions designed to improve articulation, language use, fluency, voice characteristics, and swallowing functions.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive care plans.
• Educate patients and their families to foster progress beyond clinical appointments.
• Support occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, maintaining a seamless continuum of care throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Document progress accurately and promptly, in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and peer networking to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days after hiring.
