Assistant Child Care Teacher

Job Overview Riley Crossing is one of our newest senior living/child care communities located in Chanhassen, MN, near Hwy 101 and County Road 212. It hosts 134 units of Independent/Assisted Living, Enhanced, and Memory Care in total. This location offers an on-site intergenerational childcare center which includes interactive programming with our senior residents. This Position Includes 80 hours per two weeks Monday-Friday Floating between classrooms, but mainly working with toddlers Responsibilities Research and development of curriculum relevant to your classroom age group. Provide weekly plans to both the Director and the parents of the childcare program. Ensure implementation of age-appropriate curriculum to nurture and stimulate the psychosocial, cognitive and cultural needs of the children in their care. Report any concerns to the teacher or director regarding staff or classroom issues. Assist in keeping necessary attendance records, up-to-date emergency forms, curriculum plans, individual child development profile and other records as needed. Assist in communicating with parents on child development issues, policies or other concerns related to their child. Secure health, hygiene, safety and overall well-being of children at all times. Assist in conducting parent-teacher conferences twice per year. Assist in completing assessments of children on an ongoing basis. Maintain confidentiality of records and information of staff and families. Strictly comply with universal precautions in the classroom or when administering first aid. Directly supervise classroom aides and volunteers. Report all needed information to the classroom Teacher or the center’s Director. Report daily needs and activities to the Teacher. Assist in maintaining attendance and daily meal count. Assist in maintaining daily program schedule. Supervise health and safety needs of every child. Assist in conducting classroom and parent meetings. Keeps classroom neat and orderly.
