Key Responsibilities

• Screen gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytological slides for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions in accordance with departmental terminology and protocols
• Mark abnormalities, render diagnoses, and determine cases requiring quality control or pathologist review
• Perform rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using a tele-pathology system for the collection, processing, and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations
• Participate in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in the processing and screening of cytological specimens
• Perform Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Cytotechnology experience
• ASCP certification required
• Experience with EBUS, EUS, and Thyroid FNA procedures
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
• Active New York State license

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume or community hospital cytology laboratory setting
• Familiarity with tele-pathology systems and remote evaluation workflows
