EXAMINATION PROCESS

1. Training and Experience Evaluation - Pass/Fail Applications will be screened for best qualified applicants to compete in the competitive examination process. For those passing the Training and Experience Evaluation (notified after the recruitment closing date) : 2. General Assessment Exam – Date Friday November 13 The General Fitness Exam will target the assessment of job related qualifications and readiness to successfully undertake the responsibilities of the position. For those passing the General Fitness / Performance Examination: 3. Structured Oral Interview – The week of November 16 The Structured Oral Interview will be before a panel and contain questions that assess technical knowledge, experience, and one's general fitness for successful performance in the position. A total score will be computed using weighted scores on all testing components. Applicants must receive a passing score on the oral examination to be placed on the year-long eligibility list. The top 3 ranks (scores) on the eligibility list are eligible for the hiring interview for each vacancy in this classification within the life of the list.

BASIC POSITION FUNCTION

Under supervision, to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work; to do related work as required. Works Works independently, performs semi-skilled repair and preventive maintenance work in one or more of the trades, maintenance or mechanical areas, such as carpentry, electrical, glazing, heating and ventilation, locksmithing, painting, plumbing and roofing; Cuts and installs glass,plexiglassand similar materials in windows; Uses electric and acetylene welding equipment; Assists with and handles all kinds of material and equipment; Uses a variety of hand tools and operates machinery; Loads trucks with materials and equipment; Performs heavy manual labor; Cleans work area upon completion of jobs; Keeps records of work performed.Experience: One year performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance work; or, two years at or equivalent to the level of Maintenance Worker I withConejoValley Unified School District. Education: Persons with the experience, knowledge and abilities as stated are considered to have the necessary education. Knowledge of: Basic operations, tools and terms used in one or more of the trades and other maintenance areas; Shop math. Ability to: Perform semi-skilled work in one or more of the trades or maintenance areas; Identify and use hand tools and machinery used in various trades or maintenance areas; Maintain routine records; Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; Perform heavy manual labor. #J-18808-Ljbffr Conejo Valley Unified School District
