Its services include balance sheet restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, operational turnarounds, debt and equity capital raises, and contingency planning. Breakpoint Partners is currently involved in several high-profile mandates and is looking to expand its team to fuel continued growth. Role Description & Responsibilities This is a full-time Investment Banking (Restructuring) role, based in the NY tri-state area or Florida, with regular flexibility to work remotely. The candidate will sit within a specialized restructuring practice advising companies, creditors, and other stakeholders on complex, distressed, and special situations transactions — both in-court (Chapter 11) and out-of-court (exchange offers, amend-and-extend transactions, out-of-court recapitalizations, distressed asset sales, and consensual restructurings). Core Responsibilities: Building and maintaining detailed financial models — including three-statement operating models, debt capacity and capital structure analyses, recovery/waterfall models, and 13-week cash flow / liquidity models — to support client decision-making under time-sensitive conditions Conducting financial and operational due diligence on distressed companies, including analyzing historical financials, management projections, and capital structure documents (credit agreements, indentures, intercreditor agreements) to identify key deal issues Performing valuation analyses (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, liquidation analysis) to support enterprise valuation, fulcrum security identification, and recovery scenarios Preparing high-quality presentation materials, including board decks, creditor/debtor committee presentations, information memoranda, and pitch materials for new business development Supporting senior bankers in executing live restructuring, recapitalization, M&A, and capital raise transactions — coordinating with legal counsel, financial advisors, and other deal parties across multiple concurrent workstreams Assisting in the negotiation process by preparing supporting analyses (e.g., recovery comparisons across proposed term sheets) used directly in creditor and stakeholder negotiations Monitoring an active pipeline of distressed credits and situations, and contributing to internal deal screening and business development efforts Managing and mentoring junior team members (analysts) on modeling, diligence, and materials preparation, while ensuring accuracy and quality control under tight deadlines Interfacing directly with client management teams, company boards, and other advisors as a representative of the firm on live engagements The role offers direct, high-responsibility exposure to live restructuring and special situations mandates, with a clear path toward increasing deal leadership and client-facing responsibility. Qualifications Demonstrated in- and out-of-court restructuring experience, including Chapter 11 processes, out-of-court exchanges, liability management transactions, and distressed M&A Advanced financial modeling skills, including three-statement, waterfall/recovery, liquidation, and cash flow / liquidity models built from scratch under time pressure Deep proficiency in distressed debt and credit analysis — capital structure analysis, debt capacity, fulcrum security identification, and creditor recovery analysis Experience conducting financial and operational due diligence on distressed or complex transactions, including data room management and management diligence sessions Strong grounding in corporate finance, valuation (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions), and capital markets fundamentals Prior experience in Investment Banking (restructuring, M&A, or leveraged finance groups), turnaround/restructuring advisory, or a related distressed investing seat (credit hedge fund, special situations, or distressed PE) Ability to synthesize complex financial and legal information into clear, decision-ready materials for senior bankers, company management, and creditor/debtor counsel Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfort operating in high-pressure, deadline-driven, multi-workstream deal environments Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deal teams and external advisors (legal counsel, FTI/AlixPartners-type financial advisors) simultaneously Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Capital IQ, PitchBook, or similar financial data platforms Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with a strong academic record; CFA, CPA, or progress toward either is a plus Demonstrated interest in restructuring, distressed investing, and special situations #J-18808-Ljbffr Breakpoint Partners
