Coordinates care planning with other caregivers and with other areas, adheres to universal precautions, and is compliant with infection control policies. Works independently with minimal supervision. Ensures OR environment remains sterile during procedure. Meets the needs of the ST, Surgeon, anesthesia, and patient during the procedure. Services as a patient advocate.Essential Duties:Provides direct patient care in accordance with physician orders in a warm and friendly manner.Takes and records measurements or readings.Assesses condition and provides treatment for care of patient.Administers prescribed medications.Accurately captures all applicable patient charges and submits on appropriate form in a timely manner.Demonstrates proper decontamination of instrumentation, re-sterilization and accurate completion of sterilization logs.Facilitates cost reduction per procedure by not opening supplies that are not needed.Participates in maintaining physician preference cards.Accepts on-call schedule and responds to on-call activation within 30 minutes.Uses Epic system to enter orders, confirm orders, print reports. May use other computer programs required in area of responsibility.May be asked to serve on department specialty focus team.Documents implant records completely and accurately.
