General Information

Unit Specifics:

· Number of Beds : 12

· Patient Ratios : 4-6

· Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : RN and ED Tech 24/7

· Type of equipment : Carefusion Alaris IV Pumps, Client bedside monitors

· Documentation system: Cerner

· Scheduling requirements: 3- 12 hour shifts 6 - 8 weekend shifts/schedule

· Floating policy: N/A

· Patient Experience requirements: ED required, ICU preferred, Cardiac,

Hospital Specifics-

· Certifications: ACLS, NIH, BLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC preferred

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set: Experience with Emergency patient population

Must have: ED experience

Advanced skills needed: ACLS, PALS, trauma, and cardiac. Must have excellent assessment skills

Procedures performed on unit: Bedside cardioversion, procedural sedation, splinting, assisting with intubation

Certifications Required: ACLS, NIH, PALS or ENPC, BLS, TNCC preferred

Dress Code: (Required uniform)

· Navy scrubs with white tops

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.

· Follow system policies

Awards/Recognition:

· Recently received Pathway Designation from ANCC

· This unit functions as a community ED with MD and mid-level support 24/7; Volume appx. 14,000/yr; Average acuity = 3.
