VEA Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing, high-volume emergency department at Methodist Hospital Northeast in San Antonio, Texas. This opportunity offers the pace and acuity of a busy ED with strong physician and APP coverage, efficient operations, and the support of an experienced leadership team.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine with Emergency Department experience

• APP candidates: Emergency Medicine fellowship training preferred

• Level IV Trauma designation (pending state approval)

Emergency Department Volume

• Annual ED visits: 58,520

• Average daily visits: 160

• Pediatric patient volume: 9%

• Admission rate: 22.2%

• Transfer rate: 2%

• EMS arrivals: 23% of total ED volume

• Average physician productivity: 2.1 patients per hour

Schedule & Coverage

• Physician Coverage:

  • 5–6 nine-hour shifts per day (varies by day)

• APP Coverage:

  • 4–6 shifts per day (varies by day)
