Senior Software Engineer - Java / AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We expect advanced knowledge of Java, microservices, Kafka, AWS cloud, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
• We value demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools in the workplace, including coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with the ability to define team standards for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We require a strong understanding of responsible AI usage in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations, plus experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
• We look for the ability to solve design and functionality issues independently with minimal oversight.
• We expect practical cloud-native experience.
• Preferred: experience in banking.
• Preferred: AWS certification.

• We provide technical guidance and direction to support our business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing measurable validation standards and encouraging reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
• We apply knowledge of tools within the software development life cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale.
• We influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• We serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
• We actively contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide frameworks, tools, and software development life cycle practices.
