Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Senior Privacy Counsel for their Legal Department. The right candidate will provide legal guidance in connection with the company’s data, AI and privacy policies and procedures. Provide legal guidance and support concerning e-commerce, home sale transactions, marketing, financial services, information technology and other issues that arise. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide legal advice in connection with:the company's privacy, cybersecurity, data use, artificial intelligence (AI), information technology and data governance practices and procedurese-commerce, customer relationship management (CRM) and digital marketing practices, financial services and practices, and other programs for privacy and other compliance issues; draft documentation as necessarymarketing and communication practices to comply with TCPA and CAN-SPAM requirements, including consent management, opt-out mechanisms, and record-keeping obligationstracking and analysis of existing and new federal and state privacy, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data use, breach notification and similar statutes and regulations to revise and implement the company’s privacy practices and procedures on an ongoing basisProvide counsel in connection with the company’s data subject rights, privacy impact assessments, information incidents and data breach responsesOversee privacy team for privacy inquiries, including monitoring intake channelsDevelop, implement and maintain the company’s privacy and data governance program, including privacy policies, procedures, notices, consents, training and compliance reporting.Interact daily with personnel across the company, including compliance, financial services, marketing, information technology, information security, data governance, and risk management regarding a broad array of compliance issues including those typically encountered in the home building industry and the mortgage and title businessesManage and prioritize multiple projects; analyze business and legal risks presented by these projects, coordinate with appropriate stakeholders; and bring these projects to a successful conclusion without significant supervisionConduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnightMaintain continuing education and training requirements Additional duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications: Jurist Doctoral degree (J.D.) is required8 years or more of experience is requiredCurrent license to practice lawCIPP/US, CIPP/E or other privacy certificationsPossess exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsPossess deep understanding of federal and state privacy laws, data use regulations, breach notification requirements and emerging AI requirements, including those applicable to financial services institutionsKnowledge of privacy management platformsProven ability to build and scale governance programs and to translate complex legal and technical requirements into clear, practical guidanceProficient at working in a fast-paced, high activity environmentSelf-motivated, goal-oriented, capable of multi-tasking and completing multiple projects within stated timelinesAbility to work well within a teamAbility to communicate and build relationships via MS teams and other remote style communicationsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailPreferred Qualifications:Experience in a leading law firm is preferredInformation technology, privacy, data governance, cyber security, and financial services regulation experience is preferred Experience with AI, and AI-related regulations is preferredCome join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
