This position reports tothe director of the School of Education . Visa sponsorship is notavailable for this position. The position involves two primary areas of responsibility. Thefirst is to coordinate field placements, field experiences, andstudent teaching placements across licensure programs, includingcollaboration with program directors, licensure personnel,accreditation personnel, field supervisors, students, and schoolpartners. This position will coordinate clinical practiceinfrastructure, communicate with internal and externalstakeholders, and support licensure and accreditationdocumentation. The second is to maintain, strengthen, and developschool and district partnerships that support high-quality clinicalexperiences, program visibility, and ongoing recruitment for theSchool of Education. The position includes teaching 3-6 credits a semester in an area ofexpertise aligned with one or more programs in the School ofEducation. The School of Education is part of Xavier University’s College ofHealth and Human Sciences (name effective July 1, 2026) andprovides transformative, personalized learning that preparesundergraduate and graduate students for careers of service ineducation. Primary Responsibilities 1. Coordinate major field experiences and student teachingplacements across licensure programs. Arrange and coordinate student teacher placements and major fieldexperiences at area schools and districts, including at Xavier’sLaboratory school, St. Peter Faber Academy. Communicate withstudents, program directors, school partners, field supervisors,and administrative staff to ensure placements are appropriate,timely, and aligned with program and licensure requirements. 2. Maintain placement documentation and ensure student readinessfor field experiences. Prepare and maintain documentation required by students, hostschools, supervisors, and the School of Education. Monitor studentcompletion of placement requirements, communicate with studentsregarding missing documentation, and collaborate with programdirectors and administrative staff to ensure requirements aremet. 3. Develop and sustain school and districtpartnerships. Maintain and expand relationships with public, private, andparochial schools across the region. Serve as a key School ofEducation contact for principals, teachers, district leaders, andcommunity partners. Initiate and support partnerships thatstrengthen field placement opportunities, clinical experiences, andlong-term collaboration between Xavier and area schools. 4. Support licensure and accreditation processes connected tofield experiences. Collaborate with program directors, licensure personnel, andaccreditation personnel to ensure that field experiences andstudent teaching placements meet program, state, and accreditationexpectations. Maintain relevant records and provide informationneeded for reporting, assessment, and continuous improvement. 5. Maintain communication among field-basedstakeholders. Serve as a central communication point among students, fieldsupervisors, cooperating teachers, school personnel, programdirectors, and School of Education leadership. Work withappropriate faculty and supervisors when concerns arise related tostudent performance, professionalism, placement fit, orschool-based expectations. 6. Coordinate and support field supervisors. Assist with communication, documentation, expectations, and supportfor field supervisors working with Xavier students in fieldexperiences and student teaching placements. Collaborate withprogram directors and School of Education leadership regardingsupervisor needs, concerns, and qualifications. 7. Serve as aninitial point of contact for licensure-related pathways andprospective students, as appropriate. Provide general information to prospective or newly admittedstudents seeking teacher licensure, especially as it relates tofield experiences, clinical expectations, and program pathways.Collaborate with program directors and graduate/admission personnelas needed, while formal academic advising remains with theappropriate program faculty or director. 8. Support recruitment through partnership-building and programvisibility. Participate in recruitment-related events or communications whenconnected to school partnerships, licensure pathways, fieldexperiences, or community engagement. The primary recruitmentcontribution of this role is through relationship-building witharea schools and districts, which includes coordination withXavier’s Centers for Education. 9. Teach course(s) aligned with expertise and programneeds. In coordination with the Director of the School of Education andprogram directors, teach approximately one course per semester oras assigned, based on the individual’s credentials, expertise, andthe needs of the School of Education. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Education or related field Current teacher licensure required. Five or more years of successful teaching experience in K–12education, while holding a professional license. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain school-universitypartnerships. Knowledge of teacher preparation, licensure pathways, clinicalpractice, field placement expectations, and/or accreditationprocesses. Excellent organizational skills, especially in managing studentrecords, placement documentation, and electronic files. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communicationskills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively withstudents, faculty, field supervisors, school leaders, cooperatingteachers, and community partners. Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree in Education (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) or in relatedfield. Collegiate teaching experience. Previous leadership, supervision, or coordinationexperience. Excellent technology skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel,and electronic record/database systems; experience with fieldplacement management software. Ohio licensure or ability to obtain/transfer Ohiolicensure.
