As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Melbourne, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication to students, staff, and visitors while supporting a welcoming environment. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $21.70 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and applicable laws.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, report suspicious behavior or hazardous conditions, and document incidents and observations accurately.
• Maintain required armed officer certifications and equipment in accordance with company policy, site requirements, and applicable regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
