Position Overview

The One 23 Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to deliver responsive, accurate, and employee-focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle. The role combines day-to-day execution across employee relations, HR operations, benefits, performance management, recruiting support, compliance, and workforce reporting with a practical focus on using approved artificial intelligence tools to improve quality, consistency, insight, and speed.

The HR Generalist will maintain employee data and workflows in Paylocity and partner closely with Payroll, Finance, Recruiting, IT, Security, Program Management, and company leadership. 

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Manager Support

· Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for employees and managers on policies, workplace concerns, attendance, performance expectations, employee development, and general HR matters.

· Support employee relations matters through appropriate intake, fact gathering, documentation, follow-up, and escalation; help ensure fair, consistent, and professional resolution.

· Coach managers on feedback, performance documentation, corrective action, performance improvement plans, and effective employee communications.

Employee Lifecycle, HR Operations & Paylocity

· Coordinate onboarding, personnel changes, promotions, transfers, leave events, and offboarding across O23G and ICS while ensuring each action is completed under the correct employing entity.

· Maintain accurate employee records, organizational data, compensation changes, manager relationships, acknowledgments, workflows, and reporting in Paylocity.

· Coordinate employee and compensation changes with Payroll and Finance; help resolve timekeeping, deduction, labor-related, and employee-data issues.

Talent, Performance & Employee Experience

· Support job descriptions, requisitions, interview coordination, offers, candidate handoffs, and onboarding; maintain clear O23G/ICS employing-entity designations and recruiting documentation.

· Coordinate performance-management cycles, employee development activities, recognition, engagement, internal communications, and completion tracking.

AI-Enabled HR Operations & Workforce Analytics

· Use company-approved generative AI and automation tools to develop first drafts of job descriptions, interview guides, employee communications, FAQs, SOPs, training materials, summaries, and recurring HR reports.

· Create reusable prompts, templates, knowledge resources, and workflow automations that improve consistency and reduce administrative effort across recruiting, onboarding, employee support, performance management, and compliance tracking.

· Analyze HR data to identify trends in headcount, turnover, hiring activity, retention, performance completion, employee questions, and workforce risk; translate findings into clear observations for leadership.

· Evaluate AI-supported HR use cases and track practical outcomes such as time saved, cycle-time reduction, quality improvement, adoption, and error rates.

· Maintain human review for employment decisions and sensitive communications; evaluate AI output for accuracy, completeness, relevance, and potential bias before use.

· Protect employee and candidate confidentiality by using only approved systems and never entering personally identifiable, medical, compensation, investigative, export-controlled, or other sensitive data into unapproved AI tools.

· Help develop responsible-use guidance and provide practical support to HR team members and managers adopting approved AI-enabled HR processes.

Benefits, Leave, Compliance & Documentation

· Support benefits administration, open enrollment, qualifying life events, employee questions, leave coordination, and communication with benefit providers, brokers, and Payroll.

· Maintain policies, handbook provisions, required acknowledgments, personnel records, employment documentation, HR calendars, and recurring compliance trackers.

· Support EEO/OFCCP, VETS, affirmative-action, recordkeeping, audit, and federal-contractor workforce requirements through complete, accurate, and accessible documentation.

Identify opportunities to strengthen HR controls, standardize cross-entity processes, improve employee service, and increase  

Workforce Reporting & Continuous Improvement

· Prepare recurring workforce reporting and analytics, including headcount, turnover, hiring activity, retention, employee changes, performance completion, and other key HR metrics.

· Identify workforce trends and recurring employee or manager issues and provide practical observations and recommendations to leadership.

· Improve HR workflows, documentation, reporting, and Paylocity utilization to increase consistency, responsiveness, compliance, and scalability.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

· Approximately 3-5 years of progressive HR experience in an HR Generalist, HR Operations, HR Business Partner, People Operations, or similar role.

· Hands-on experience across employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, benefits, policy administration, HRIS data, compliance documentation, and employee support.

· Practical experience using generative AI, automation, or advanced productivity tools to improve professional work products, workflows, analysis, or employee service.

· Strong judgment, discretion, writing, organization, reporting, Excel, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and protect confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

· Hands-on Paylocity experience across employee records, onboarding, recruiting, workflows, benefits, performance management, and reporting.

· Experience with Microsoft 365, Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise or equivalent approved generative AI tools, Power Automate, Power BI, or related workflow and analytics capabilities.

· Experience supporting a small or mid-sized federal government contractor, professional services company, technology company, or similarly fast-paced environment.

· Familiarity with federal-contractor HR compliance and responsible AI considerations in recruiting, employee communications, analytics, and employment decision support.

· PHR, SHRM-CP, or another relevant HR certification is a plus but not required.
