Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in PCU required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Solid experience in a mixed acuity PCU. Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a busy, collaborative progressive care unit. This unit cares for a diverse medical-surgical population with varying levels of acuity. Teamwork and communication are essential for success in this role. The PCU consists of a 12-bed high acuity medical surgical unit with a 1:4-5 patient ratio. It also features a 10-bed PCU with a 1:3-4 patient ratio. The ratios remain consistent for both day and night shifts. Nurses will rotate to medical-surgical assignments within the unit. Floating to other units may be required based on facility needs. The daily census is approximately 20 patients. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include stroke, cardiac conditions, respiratory issues, and surgical recovery. Special procedures and training for specific patient care will be provided. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Nurses must be proficient in various clinical skills and procedures to provide high-quality patient care.
